No dia 5 de maio de 2012, os últimos dois jatos F-22 Raptors produzidos pela Lockheed Martin Aeronautics em Marietta, na Georgia.

Os Raptors 193 e 195 juntaram-se aos outros F-22s na 3rd Wing da Joint Base Elmendorf-Richardson, no Alaska.

“Pentagon restricts F-22 flights, safety a concern … In a letter to Air Force Secretary Michael Donley, Panetta ordered that F-22 flights remain “within proximity of potential landing locations” so that pilots can land quickly in the event they experience an oxygen-deficit problem.
